As mentioned in previous meetings and communications, our Return to School team continues to meet on a weekly basis to discuss new information that may impact on our existing policies. At this week’s session, we discussed the criteria for keeping a student and household members home from school for COVID symptoms and are updating the screening based on advice from the team physicians. Effective on Monday, November 2nd, please note the revised criteria below:
Note that the actual COVID symptoms to watch for have not changed. We are simply evolving
the screening criteria to include a more nuanced risk assessment based on the latest
recommendation from the Michigan Branch of American Academy of Pediatrics. Our hope is
that it will now be easier for you to make the right determination for your child.
Many of the symptoms described above can be mistaken for the flu so it’s a good time to
consider getting your annual flu shots. The immunizations have arrived at our local clinics so
please contact your doctor to get your shot scheduled.
