Many parents have noticed “strangers” sitting with our students at sporting events, and they are also sitting with them during many of our lunches at school. This is the NET (evangelical ministries) group that is working with our area Catholic Churches this year. It has been a whirlwind of activity (for the Parishes) with the hiring of a new Coordinator of Youth Ministries recently and having the NET ministry group arrive at almost the same time. Chad Roden (former LMC student and new Coordinator of Youth Ministries) has written the introduction letter and explanation of the NET Ministries program below.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Chad directly at 4churchesym@gmail.com or 269-983-1575 ext. 17.

Hello,

My name is Chad Roden and I am the new Coordinator of Youth Ministry for St. Joseph and Sts. John and Bernard Parishes. I wanted to reach out to you to let you know about some of the great programs that the Youth Ministry team will be hosting, how the Youth Ministry of the Parish will be seen in the local schools, and introduce the team of missionaries that will be serving our youth this year.

This year the youth ministry program (4 Churches Youth Ministry) will be hosting many programs for youth grades 6th – 12th. For example the High School Youth Group will start this Saturday (October 7th) after the 6:00 pm mass. We will meet in the Rose Center in the Youth Room. We also have a couple of bigger events coming up like the Corn Maze Trip on October 21st, and the Diocesan Youth Rally on November 4th. For more information on these events please feel free to email me at 4churchesym@gmail.com or to follow us on Facebook by searching for 4ChurchesYM.

So, as a parent you may be wondering what this means for your child as a student of LMC. This year I will be working with Mr. Mansfield, the Campus Minister, to foster a deeper sense of Catholic Spirituality rooted in prayer, community, study, and service. I will not be replacing anything Mr. Mansfield has in place, but rather supporting him in the programs he establishes and continues to run for the catholic ministry to and for the students.

Last, but certainly not least, I wanted to introduce the NET Missionaries that will be serving our youth this year. Our team consists of eight missionaries, four men and four women. They range in age from eighteen to twenty four. Each team member goes through extensive training, background checks, and policy studies to begin their ministry with NET and with our parish. They will be working with the Youth Ministry Program in the area to reach out to kids at LMC and all the local public schools. They will host many church sponsored events like the after school Open Youth Rooms, every Thursday after school until 5:00 pm in the Rose Center. The majority of their ministry here will be spent reaching out to the students where they are through one-on-one ministries. You will also see them at many local sporting events cheering on teens, starting small groups to play different sports or other group activities. Their ministry will help us as a church be more fully present and active in the lives of our youth.

If you would like more information on any of our programs, or about the missionaries, or myself, please feel free to send me an email at 4churchesym@gmail.com or call me at 269-983-1575 ext. 17. If you would like to meet with me face to face, I have office hours at the Morlock Center on Wednesdays from 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Thank you for your time and I look forward to meeting you in person.

Peace and All Good in Christ,

Chad
